Amazing list. A few groups on there i have never heard of before and love. I have to agree, something about the bleakness of that region (still dont think its a country), and soul crushing music go together like pb and j.

So I'm what you'd consider a 'fake crust,' and I am one. But would you have me go and have a comfortable job as a lawyer or politician? Because I could soooo easily succeed at that. Instead I prefer to surround myself with those who love peace, live simply, create art, and crave adventure. Also the aesthetic is one of my favourites but that's a matter of personal opinion. My best friend and I were born into wealth but we hugely dislike it. That I'd not to say we wish to be poor, that is perfectly ridiculous to want in our position. Instead we would accept our lot and use the power given to us to lift people up, we are the ones giving talking to the dudes in the touring bands and giving them cash so they have a chance to follow their dreams and continue doing what they love, we're the ones buying cigs and food for the trainhoppers so that they can continue to follow their hearts desire to travel. I know that however far I travel from home on the rails I'll always have my parents to come back to (I'm extremely grateful for that) but I realize there are millions that don't have that comfort so I would rather work to remedy that and live in solidarity with them, listen to their stories and value them as humans, rather than continue the wealthy lifestyle of greed and to ignore the hurting and impoverished.

Dude, I was laughing my ass off about the kids. I always stood out like a sore thumb with flannel shirts and Levis when I was younger...probably because I modeled my wardrobe after my grandfather and Bruce Springsteen. I always got a kick out of these kids pretending to be poor and talking shit. Got worse when my daughter was born and they decided to try to crucify me. God forbid I don't want my little girl growing up arouns junkies and squats. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Nice interview, Bryan seems like a great guy and really does a lot for underground music and the "scene". Thou are one of the best bands going now. I'll see them for the third time in Albuquerque in January. The first was in Columbus, OH at Scion rock fest, second was in Columbia, MO. What a fantastic label he has also, can't wait for all those up coming releases.

and you left another one off...we were in Marin County driving down by Sausalito and a car drove by...it was Huey Lewis in a gray VW Rabbit. No comparison to Clark Kent in a red Vet and certainly you were not impressed because of the Rabbit! And weren't you in the store with Chelsea Clinton and Tiger Woods came in? At this rate can't wait to hear who you bump into next!

I realized I left two out.

Wiesbaden, Germany, 1997- Apparently Justin Timberlake was at my prom. This was during his 'Nsync years. I know he was there. People told me he was there. I just don't remember it because.... well, because I was very involved in extra-curricular activities. You know how it is for us go-getters.

Kansas City, MO, 2004 - Steven Segal has a band. I am not making this up. I saw them play. I had been drinking and I decided that Steven Segal needed to get to the point and chop something already. I told him my feelings in between songs. I told him A LOT. I was asked to leave. But, I'd like to go on record saying I heckled Segal and didn't get my ass kicked! Huzzah!
