My art style is rooted heavily in traditional American tattoo flash, comic books, music album art, and skateboard art. My mediums are predominantly pen and ink, colored pencils, and markers. Very recently I have started experimenting with the idea of working with acrylic and water color paints.
I am from the Washington DC area, now transplanted into the swamps of Louisiana. I grew up skateboarding, and that heavily influenced all facets of my life. I used to replicate images from the pages of Thrasher Magazine and from the bottoms of my skateboards. Through skateboarding, I grew to listen to a lot of underground metal and hardcore bands. These bands’ covers also influenced my art heavily. Through the underground music culture, I grew to love tattoo flash, got heavily tattooed myself, and studied a lot of the older masters’ work.
I have also traveled heavily. To say I am from the DC area is actually a pretty loose statement. I have never lived anywhere for more than a year or two. I have traveled extensively through the U.S., Europe, Asia, and parts of Africa.
Everywhere I have gone, I have made it a mission to see local art and museums. Art is a universal language that has brought me more friends than I could ever have imagined. If it is someone looking over my shoulder while I draw, admiring a painting in a museum next to someone, or bonding over the act of getting tattooed, I have met a lot of amazing people.
I am currently sought out to do custom flash for tattoos, but also do custom artwork for record labels and bands. I also love doing original artwork for skateboards.
Contact me today for any art project you have in mind for tattoo, music, skateboarding or other unique tasks, and I am sure we will come up with something interesting.
